Grand Master's and Ladies Pin Design Contest

In October 2011, if elected, RWB Kevin B. Todd will be installed as Grand Master of Masons in Ohio. It is customary for the Grand Master and the Grand Master's Lady to create a lapel pin. This year we are going to have a Grand Master's and Ladies Pin Design Contest to allow everyone in the 24th Masonic District an opportunity to participate. Have some fun and show just how creative you can be!

CONTEST RULES

  1. You are allowed an unlimited number of entries.
  2. One Men's Pin and one Ladies' Pin design will be chosen, but not from the same person.
  3. A winning design must be submitted by a member of a Masonic Organization from the 24th Masonic District.
  4. The finished pin should be no larger than 3/4" to 1" square (this rule may be adjusted a little, as necessary). The original artwork may be as large as needed to show your design. The pin can be any shape as determined by your design. The pin may be colored, or bare metal finish.
  5. The men's pin must include a Masonic Square and Compasses. The Ladies Pin cannot have the Masonic Square and Compasses and need not have any Masonic reference at all.
  6. All designs must be in the hands of the judges before September 1, 2007. Submit your design entries to: Kevin Todd, 3835 West Main Street, New Waterford, OH 44445 or kevinbtodd@sbcglobal.net. The two winning designs will be announced by December 31, 2007.

THE PRIZES

The two winners of the pin design contest will each receive:

  1. Recognition at the 24th Masonic District's Grand Master's Reception in 2012 with a Certificate of Accomplishment and a fifty dollar gift certificate.
  2. A guaranteed visit from the Grand Master (and Mrs. Todd, as appropriate) to your organization's Annual Inspection in 2012 to be presented with the pin you designed.

THE JUDGES

The contest judges will be RWB Kevin Todd and Mrs. Pam Todd. We will be looking for the pin design that best displays originality, beauty, and unique form. We will be considering readability (if there are words on the pin, can you read them when the pin is actual size?) and cost to manufacture the pins. We will be ordering approximately 20,000 men's pins and 10,000 ladies' pins, so cost is a factor.
